I Apologize

I Apologize

I apologize for everything,
For things I've never done.
I'm used to feeling the pressure of guilt.
The pressure to hold my tongue.

Found blameless in their mind…
Like self-convinced blasphemy.
When things changed or went wrong,
The only one to shame was me.

With my lowered self-worth… self-doubt,
I believed all the words that they said.
Trying, apologizing, and protecting their flaws,
They found ways to get into my head.
