Poem -

I Can Sing

Like the chirping of the sparrows in the early morning
The chimpanzee sings as he swings from sycamore. branches one by one
The islands speak in harmony as the parots and tancoons call out
The roar of the lion and the elephant bring voice to the jungle
As I too sing a note or two I live for the moment
I find the drums in my head and the beat of my heart my passion
The whipperwhirl may say a word or two
And the cardinal shall sing in brilliant tune, while the red robin takes the lead
I want to sing like Barbara and Whitney and bring everyone to their feet
I am woman hear me roar and I am singing in this band tonight
Where Simon and his pannel can judge me if they want
But I already know I can Sing
