I Don't Get It!

I saw a sad sight. A grandmother of 71 looking after 10 children because her family had died of AIDS related disease

She digs the dry earth to plant. To obtain £1.00 a day to support her family in food and send them to school

The charity that showed this tells me I can help by giving a £5 donation
My question 'why cannot I give £1.00 per day to reach this particular family'?

I am willing to part with this money, should it  mean she will not have to work so hard to look after her grandchildren
My question...... Why is it not that simple...to me it is!

If I give £1 a day to this family I will make the difference. Why is it not that not possible?????
