"I Don't Have to Wonder"

"I never had control,
of anything,
but me,
and when I used,
those drugs,
even that was lost,
eventually,
completely.

A free spirit,
set on a course,
for the worst,
that if God hadn't have intervened,
I would've been,
already in a hearse,
my last car ride,
with the ground,
the Earth's Mouth,
opened wide,
and my family sobbing,
as I was lowered inside,
but thank The Lord,
that didn't happen,
and that's because,
I made Jesus My Captain.
Because only He,
could navigate The Sea,
and the stormy weathers,
and now on Dry Land,
I still hold His Hand,
and He day by day,
teaches me how,
to be a good man,
where once I was so selfish,
always taking,
so many promises,
I ended up breaking.

Thank You Lord,
you chose never to forsake,
and none of Your Promises,
did You ever break,
because I don't have to wonder,
without You and Your Grace,
I know I'd be six feet under.

Now with this new chance,
I pray you make Your Words through me dance,
like Fourth of July sparklers,
and they,
resonate deeply,
with those who,
hide their hearts in the dark,
that Your Words through me,
are like thousands,
upon thousands,
of gentle fireflies,
that illuminate,
the devil's lies,
for their tired eyes,
and they wake up,
once and for all,
and brush themselves off,
as they answered Your Call,
because if you've,
a breath,
still in your lungs,
then His Name,
from the rooftops,
should be sung,
and I pray,
you make the right choice,
and that He rings out,
with all you ever voice."
