I Forgot To Remember

I Forgot To Remember

When the ash came at Pompeii, I was changed to gray,
there was no time to read fifty shades, so they say,
I was told to build an ark, ready for the flood,
there was no time left but I did what I could.

I was a dinosaur in those old prehistoric ages,
then the meteor came before I could collect my wages,
in a boat when Krakatoa blew its great top,
there was no time to know when it would stop.

I tried to avoid a nasty dose of bubonic plague,
but the notice on the tree had been rather vague,
when I crossed The Red Sea, I saw the waves coming in,
there was no time to realize it must have been a sin.

Stuck in an earthquake, I didn't have to care,
I forgot to remember that I wasn't really there.
