I Keep Telling Myself What I Want To Hear

I Keep Telling Myself What I Want To Hear

Whispered stars in ears
From fast talking sideways lips,
Only treasured words I hear
Awaiting mouth drinks victory punch in slow sips.
But comprehended stars be lies
From cracking chapped lips
I careless for the echo of empty words
As bitter face bites back on the gulps of a failures brew.

Strangely understood, alcohol, what more can I say
I've come to realize that the drink releases
mostly bitter words of truth :/
Likely why I do not drink,
Thought provoking Devon, much love nardine.

Thanks a ton Nardine, it plays it's part and day dreamers eventually wake up to reality. I also hate eating my words when Im wrong about something I so strongly believed in.
