I Knew The Night Was Coming

I Knew The Night Was Coming

Where were you all those years ago, going with the flow,
I was in heaven, wriggling my toes in white coral sand,
long black hair down your back, nothing you may lack,
the mountain looked down on us, what more can I give you.

We gazed wistfully down the Lanzerac misty serene vallys,
memories of long past, maybe you stood on a hill with a spear,
surveying all before you, your words could not be disobeyed,
the armies parted to let me through to stand beside you.

This land was our land, no matter who may come and go,
we had swept all before us, electric, going with the flow;
didn't I know you before - standing in the shade of indigo,
you smiled, melted in my arms, led me into your dreams.

We danced across continents, holding hands together,
living forever, reincarnated, in the land of never-never.
