I know a girl
i know a girlΒ
who never got to be a child
living without love or structure
she grew rebelious and wild
coming from a broken home
her pain gave her strenghth
and she did it alone
she was hard as a tank
her father was a prick
he decided to ditch
her her mom was messed up
and was never in the picture
now shes a woman
and lets men treat her badly
to her thats normal
ββββββthats what she learned from her daddy
shed do anything just to feel loved
cursed by devotion she does her best to be tough
plauged by a plethra of emotions
sad and angry tears stain her wet eyes
her hearts permanently broken by abandonment and lies but even though she sees emptiness in her mirror
when it becomes too much and she thinks about pulling the trigger
she hears a tiny sweet voice saying "whats wrong mamma?"
an angel holding her blanky in unicorn pajamas
i knew a girl that despite all odds
became a great mother
and shell never be alone again
cuz they will always have eachother

Hi Dana, I really like this poem. I'm glad the girl didn't let the past dominate her future. Great write.

She is my best friend and still struggles, but her daughter really saved her life.
Just.... great!
