I trusted you.

at first with tender gentleness. 
You held and cared. 
Caressed and loved. 
You whispered sweet nothings, 
And got me drunk on promises of love. 
Promises of forever. 

Then, slowly. 
Overtime. 
Withdrawal and disconnect. 
soon came hate and malice. 

Yelling. 
Screaming. 
Crying. 
And finally red..
Red, black and blue. 
Hospitals and gournies. 
Life and death. 

Those once sweet I love yous
Poisoned into bitter I hate yous. 

One by one. 
Piece by piece. 
You cut me open. 
Ripped me apart. 
Every Tear. 
Every scar. 
Every bruise. 
Remorselessly you cut me down. 
smaller and smaller,
Faster and faster. 

You once taught love 
And preached respect. 
All your promises dust in the wind. 
The diamond ring now meaningless. 
You teach hate and fear. 
Preach anger and violence. 

Disappearances and coming home drunk. 
Lock me away. 
Make me watch. 
Leave me to cry. 
Cheating and lonely nights. 
And then you left.

Cut down and empty. 
Fearing everything. Everyone.

You sneak into my dreams. 
You rape and beat. 
Cut down what I fixed.
