"I was a Marionette"

"I was a Marionette"

"I was a marionette.
Drugs made me,
the Devil's Pet.
There was,
no strength in me,
for the life I lived,
so I chose to give,
myself fully,
to the feeling I got,
from dope,
for,
you see,
I had no hope,
for a future,
a brighter dawn.
So I stayed drunk,
and passed out,
on my front lawn.

I was dead,
to the world,
dead in my head,
but now I choose,
to live instead,
and things are,
getting better,
slowly with time,
and I thank,
the Lord,
for all He does,
and the sunshine,
so now I keep,
my eyes,
transfixed on the Son,
of God,
and I quit using,
and my new life's begun,
and in doing that,
I know I have won!"
