Poem -

I wish I never knew

I wish I never knew what it was like to be abandoned by a mother's love .

I wish I never knew the selfishness that stole my necessities

I wish I never knew the emptiness that feelings bring without explanation.

I wish I never knew that the fairy tales I read were never  real

I wish I never knew  the experience of a tragedy without a pen.

I wish I never knew the loss of the freedom I once enjoyed

I wish I never knew the paralysis caused by overwhelming  fear

I wish I never knew the battle of depression that teases me daily.

I wish I never knew what it means to be changed by the depravity of others.

I wish I never knew what racism does to the diversity on planet earth.

I wish I never knew what it means to be an imperfect sinner in the eyes of religion

I wish I never knew what it was like to feel powerless against the powers that be.

I wish I never knew what it was like to be seen but never heard.

I wish I never knew what it was like to have scars that will never go away.

I wish I never knew that kindness was never a part of their soul

I wish I never knew the division caused by the variety of beliefs

I wish I never knew the feel of grimy leather upon my gentle skin.

I wish I never what it was like to stare into the face of anger

I wish I never knew what it was like to fall short in comparison

I wish I never knew the depths of low self-esteem personally

I wish I never knew what it was like to be robbed by the needs of life

I wish I never knew what it was like to be labeled without my permission.

I wish I never knew the system that molded my mind

I wish I never knew what it was like to feel the confusion of living from the outside.

I just wish I never knew.
