Jacob started kindergarten Meemaw

I wish you were here to see

It reminds me of when I went

and that you were there for me

You woke me up

made sure breakfast was ate

walked me to the bus stop

and told me my day would be great

You were the best great grandma

that there could ever be

and now your gone

your not here with me

And your not here with Jacob

your not here to see

how excited he is for school

and how great he's going to be

you won't see him turn six

you won't see him grow

you won't see how smart he is

and all the things he will know

You won't hug him

if he has a bad day

Your not here

to tell him it will be ok

I know you can see him

and you can see me too

but that doesn't change the fact

that we can't see you

We can't call you

and tell you to come over

we can't go visit you

not in person anymore

Your just gone

and theres nothing I can do

theres nothing i can say

i still miss you

I wish you were here

for Jacob and for me

I know that one day

thats where we all will be
