Bars on my window don't confine me.
See i walk out the front door
Do as i please and the things i do please me
I don't know much about love except it use to confine me

You should see the family tapestry
Black sails go's where the wind blow's don't even have an anchor..
Nothing keeping me to the life left behind..
Except the still anger that binds
My body's become a home for another living creature
Who's been born our of my soul
My creature is range
It has this monstrous ego that never says your free to go
All the resentments for the years of abuse
Maybe the abuse isn't what caused the anger
Maybe it's because I stayed silent....
I didn't speak out because I was told if I did...
I don't remember what He said
but I remember being scared..

When I have a daughter...
I swear to protect her as soon as she's born..
She's a rose still without the thorns.
Something so pure..
And I intend on keeping it that way.
She will not be de crowned of her beauty
She will not be deprived of her pride
She will not be hurt as I was hurt
She will not spend a whole week in a hospital because of broken ribs
She will not have to lie about her scars
She will not be a professional makeup artist by the age of 12..
Because she's not gonna have to cover bruises daily.
