Ice on the Petals

Ice on the Petals

lamenting she had too many thorns,
and as they hurt, her tears became a river
of colours from red to blue
displaying a splendid vision
in all fragrance and hues.
As her tears flow sad and deeper,

no matter what you’ve been told,
you cannot have a river of splendour
without a mountain of ice and cold.
