If Seagulls Could Talk

The breeze of the oceanfront brings in the smell of the seashells
Seashells live and then their remains decorate the white sandy beaches
As the seagull flies above me, soaring oh so sweetly, calling out my name, they fly
I hear their call, calling to us, letting us know they are there
Makes me feel like I'm in a wonderland, as the big ships anchor in the harbor
If seagulls could talk, I think they would say, don't throw rocks at me, don't chase me away
For I am your feathered friend who watches over the deep waters, and the mighty ships that sail
I am on a journey, meeting new faces, I travel to many places
Put your hand under my wing, I will help you get past all your pains
As the tide beats against the decks of the boardwalk
I see a baby seagull and its mother, feeding her young so shy
So many seagulls walk the beaches, acting almost like people, if they could really talk
My favorite place to be, is down by the water, watching the sunrise as the seagulls fly
I'm talking to the seagulls, just taking my time, thinking of you,  wondering why?
As I talk to the seagulls, they're telling me, to tell you, it's goodbye!
