Poem -

I'll look for the rain

 I'll look for the rain

It's not like me to be the noble one for love

my wants have never taken a back seat so far

Somewhere along the way, did I learn to care?

Was that you as well? Changing my ways

Between an oasis of green and broken dreams

there is a junction, I stand for you in this place

with my hands in empty pockets, trying hard

to see your point of view, and cause you no pain

.

But I need more than a drop, more than a taste

for the feeding of this molten lava you ignited

when I hear the ring of carnal bells provoking

anticipation excites my skin to mindless play

.

So open your mouth let me kiss honeyed lips

let me ride the waves of your eyes made of blue

gorge my appetite with lust and possession;

No. That was the old me; I've changed for you

.

Behind these walls made of distance, we speak

and find common ground when the rain comes

it brings some kind of melancholy comfort

the kind that makes you aware of all you have

.

Hey Sis.  Cherie....I always get excited like a lil puppy when I see a comment from you, lol....I feel like trying to write another poem after I read a Sis. Cherie comment; not even kidding.....omg!  you understand my screwed up poem better than I do, that is intimidating....yes I got inspiration to write this after watching an old 'Dexter' episode; lol, that's my story and I'm sticking to it....hey thanks again for comment; they should have a 'prize' on here for best commenting, for sure you would win....cheers

Hey C!!..........the Rain as carnal desire driving you on...........with the Lava ignited........even the rain has trouble controlling desire............this is SO well delivered bro..........you have an innate sense of writing that begs for prose from that gifted mind of yours...........i'll bet writing poetry is a simple thing for you..........I adore your style...........and when lust comes through your stuff with such elegance.........it's truly a compelling sight to behold...........well done brother..........miss you..........later tater...........T xo

Hey T, missed this comment....thank you for saying that, and I will take a compliment from you with great appreciation because when the smoke clears, you kick my arse in poetry every day of the week and twice on Sundays....not sure how easy it is to write, to be honest I sometimes have to work pretty hard to get what I'm trying to get...I sit staring at a write and can re arrange it for hours, walk away come back; still find nothing....honestly with certain ones I only think they are done when they talk back to me, lol; it's weird with me...I'm not sure how you do it; create from thin air words and scenarios....I enjoy conversation on the topic T, a kind of Poet's Forum, where artists can let their hair down and discuss this unique skill set that many people on here possess...cheers

Chris!  I so enjoyed this sensitive and honest write.  Lust has a "single" eye…one doesn't always examine  feelings or intent as lust can drive you to possession and salacious pleasure without engaging the other gears.  However, "no, that was the old way…I've changed for you" is the junction and suddenly one's priority changes into a desire to deliberately alter your "swag", contemplate, and enjoy the new emerging that you want to offer the other person.  Rain refreshes, renews, restores, rebirths, etc.

Valerie, thank you for taking the time to write such a beautiful comment....I'm actually honoured by it to tell the truth, comments still mean a lot, even to grizzled veterans like me, lol....especially from poets like you whose work I have always appreciated, thank you once again my friend...so good to have you back on here :D

Hello Lily Mae, thank you for your compliments; like a lot of poets I am an egomaniac, and my favourite thing to be called is an 'artist' so when you say this was 'artistically written' my ego has gone through the freaking roof, just sayin, lol...thanks Lily Mae, I'm just being a bit of an ass, I appreciate and love your comments, thanks again buddy....cheers
