ILLUSIVE LITTLE BUTTERFLIES

Words fluttering around in my mind

And then flee away in a blink

Escaping my creative thoughts

In a trail of India ink

They were here one moment

Flitting around in my head

I tried to capture them

But then they quickly fled

Elusive little butterflies

Escaping from my net

I tried to quickly write them down

Before they'd flee and I'd forget

Running around chasing ideas

Trying to put my thoughts on paper

But my thoughts took wings and flew away

And my ideas, turned to vapor

Those darn illusive  butterflies

Those thoughts with beautiful wings

They stir the mind, inspire the soul

With the possibility of things
