I'M A BUTTERFLY

I'm a butterfly~ in the making
In a protected, sheltered state
I know you wish to see me fly
I know it's hard for you to wait
I can't be rushed or hurried
I need the struggle to break free
My wings are not yet fully formed
I'm not ready; Can't you see?
I'm a butterfly~ in the making
The pain and struggle are very real
I wish I could make you understand
I wish you could feel what I feel
Maybe you thought I don't try hard enough
Maybe you thought I wanted to stay
I wish you could see how hard I'm trying
To spread my wings and fly one day
Step inside my chrysalis
Take a look inside my world
Then perhaps you'd understand
Why I'm like a rose, struggling to be unfurled
