Impatient

Impatient

I suffer from being impatient, I always feel the need to rush.

It stems from when I was a child, my step dad would rush us.

We were never fast enough, my siblings and me, nor our mom.

When his clock expired his hands would quickly remind us to hurry.

My wife still doesn’t understand, why I can become so impatient.

To her it’s not fair, but to us it wasn’t fair either, his behavior.

I can continue to rush, rush, rush, as I continue to hush, hush, hush.

Or I can try to accept, accept, accept, he’s no longer a threat, threat, threat and change.

I could try to talk, talk, talk to my wife so she can understand and not consider to walk, walk, walk.

Our past is way more dangerous than what it ever was, when we try to conceal it and not talk about the underlying cause of our feelings.

Battles lost in the past, leads us to wars in the future, unless we understand currently how we are.

Someone else’s hate cannot prevent our love, someone else’s decisions cannot dictate our growth!

It is only us who can decide our own fate, it is only us that dictate how we spend our time.
