Impossible Situations

Impossible Situations

We all get them, jumping from a plane for a sky dive,
then deciding you didn't want to do it, prefer to stay alive,
some things can turn out to be not so bad after all,
don't be too cocky because pride comes before a fall.

She changed her mind, didn't want to be the bride,
oh for the quiet life, instead of having a day when all hope died,
being discovered with your hand in the till, here come the 'old bill,'
one thing after another starts to seem excessive overkill.

When you retire, you no longer have a work problem,
however, you inherit new ones with niggles from them,
that's life, deal with it, how fallible we really are,
how often you just wish to be a distant avatar.

I think back, when all was on a prayer and a wing,
and in good old Mr. Hindsight when I wouldn't change a thing.
