In Dying Notes Discovers..

It is not nature's beauty
I desire,
A perfect smile, an old oak tree's
Despair
Nor rainy-day children, nor poverty's hand
Or, my lover's
Most deliciously, red hair...
Don't sing to me
Of Billie's blues
Or remind me of the heroin
That stole her radiant bloom,
For it is not nature's beauty
That I most desire...
I need only my ability
To observe,
And to slowly sip
From adventures precarious,
Yet fleeting wine flagon
And mostly,
To write of that
Which nature
Reveals to us all..
For I am but
The soft, complaining
Woodwind instrument
Upon which
Nature's beauty
So gently blows..
And if precious music,
In dying notes discovers
That I am here,
Then,
I am most happy
To have lived observantly
At all...

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,
The Bassoon bleats out the beautiful bounty of your words.Β You, the "noted musician poet" who takes his avid readers to places they've never dreamt of.Β The great "Holiday" who sang with an Angel's voice, but succumbed to the devils vice.Β Your words resonate deep into our souls, for you, are the bringer of truth.
Peace, Love and Rockets,
xox Larry
