In Grief There Is God

Warm tears fell upon the cold stoneĀ
Blessing it with eternal love and sadness
As she stood on the short green grassĀ
Standing at the grave of her sister
Who was taken by God's angelsĀ
A man walked to her sideĀ
Shame and sorrow radiating from him
The person who caused her sister's demiseĀ
Her heart ached, but she held no maliceĀ
As she turned and gave him a hugĀ
The smell of alcohol lingered on his breath
In her mind, she prayed for himĀ
Knowing that it was his demonsĀ
That caused the accidentĀ
And hating him would do nothing to change it
So she gave him grace
Taking the fresh Aster from his left handĀ
Before turning to her sister's graveĀ
And placing it there with the other flowers
"We forgive you," she whispered to him.Ā

The most difficult kind of forgiveness. Never easy to do. You write about it beautifully x
