Indian Summer

Indian Summer

Summer spirals into fall
Colors shift on Gaia’s shawl
Amber leaves dance on bough
Cascade midst gentle sough

Solstice ever changing tide
Shadows creep from dark reside
Children laugh raking leaves
Wishing change had reprieves

Swirling rides at county fair
Indian summer candied air
Pocket change rush to spend
Dreading soon this will end
