THE INFIDEL

Today in the backyard, I heard some whispers
Like some serpents, to their mothers talking
It was my spouse, I knew, oh,and the voice was hers
And she was lost in her passion of chatting
She talked to a long distance and didn't disperse
Even when I put my ears to her roaming curse
Oh, the shock, how can I tell you!
What she said, how can I conceal?
And after that what I went through
And how gloomy today I feel
What she said was of course not true
And it was all lies, about me and who?
There wasn't love and there wasn't care
In her talking manner, in her chatting fashion
And I still think, on her part, it wasn't fair
Respect had gone, dignity had run
Such moments are, in my life, rare
But to live any longer, I don't dare.
