Inner Reconciliation
Not long ago
In a spirit not so far away
Tried to break away free
Abscond from the self
It doesn't like what it sees
Why ask ? Why climb ? Why reach for light ?
It's not that obvious
In the dark you must fight
You must brave the black night
To be the one knight shining in the light .
Phenomenological lies
That are untied from unchallenged dreams
Victimised is the blamer
Expectations from the judger
The book secret
Records kept in sequel
My fears my failure
All laid bare
Hope nobody sees
But this is me I'm not that darkness it's what I seen in others
It was not me . I can't stand these defects
Others have burned at the stake for these
Hide and run
Ignore and deflect
It will always come back
It'll never let go
Oh god , no .
My shadows
I thought they died in the snow , of that winter
That dark night of the soul
Little do we know
Acceptance is the key , the way to go
No longer afraid
Owning the shadow to glow
In my entirety and all that I am
Every heartache was just master plan
Guided from somewhere unknown
I found the way
To my old golden throne
Open pandoras box and have the fight of your life
Only you to look at
Every cranny
Every slice
Get in your cocoon
Let metamorphosis consume
You'll find your way home
Never too late and not too soon
Accept yourself, they'll be plenty of room
Take what you need and leave the rest behind
Time to live
No need to survive

This is BEAUTIFUL. Those first lines read like a sci-fi intro. I could almost hear the music behind the lines. But then oh wow the journey of self discovery swept me away. There is a sense of rebirth in this piece. To allow oneself to truly look into each and every crevice life has engraved upon them, and loving oneself. For dark and light come in equal measures. They allow us to learn the depth of being human, of empathy and most of all the power of love. Which starts with forgiveness. Self forgiveness is a powerful thing. I found it here in your very well penned poem. Loved the last part where it speaks of metamorphosis. For when we become attuned to our true nature and its purpose in this grand thing we call the universe. Then transformation is felt, as our energy is lifted. Like a butterfly spreading its wings for the first time and feeling the air lift it. There is a shift inside us. It is a beautiful thing.

Inner reconciliation! This is you Thomas. I only saw this poem today and I wish i had read it long time ago. This is so powerful that makes one think one understands your journey. But only you know it, others cannot possibly comprehend it. Jung talked about the shadow. You are right! No longer afraid, owning the shadow to glow. Yes, acceptance is the key. Good journey Thomas.
