Insecurity

The ring came as an insecurity
No longer are we to be considered free
We sit behind closed doors as they tell us who to be

They ask us for the meaning of life
Only to criticize and cause us strife. 
We have been told, "it will shape your life, so you must go." 
Words from a friend, or from a foe?

Still there are aspects of life in which we do not know
Such as the unconditional love that is never shown 
Teach me something remarkable, so true knowledge I may bestow.

Pressured today we are to make a life decision 
When just last night we wished for dreams upon stars in great superstition 
Some today this test will pass, but what shall happen to the rest?
