Insomnia's Dream

Insomnia's Dream

A nosebleed for the memory
Trapped in a thousand thorns
A rosebush and your eyes I see
In a longing stare of loss
And the reason I'm not there
Is that I am now without you
As the past is upset
By the present sense
Perniciously peering through

No sleep for the migraine
And the anguish inside my chest
Pulsating for the epiphany
Whilst enervating with every breath

Through bleeding eyes, I seek in silence
And keep this agony here for you
On torn out pages, where forlorn rages
And will, until your soul seeps through

If only these tears could turn to crystal
And you appear through my reflection
To let me see the life we're missing
And all that awaits beyond
The mutual decay of solitary sentence

Come exonerate my soul
And unburden every subdued aspect
I will not sleep till I awaken then
If only to die, by a stoic resolution
Forbearing the equanimity of sadness

Pour your pain
Into the hollow depths of my heart
And let it flower
Over the empty grave
Where loneliness follows death
To keep us apart
As the rain descends to devour
The stilled winds of a hidden flame
