Intimacy

Intimacy

A warm embrace.
Like a knife to my throat
But if I say no; will you leave?

Arms wrapped around me .
As I struggle to fill these lungs
with air instead of sand

A home cooked meal.
A obligation I did not ask for
But you tell me it's in the contract.

Hey NICOLE!!...... I like the way you allowed your phrasing here to be less definitive and more open to being inferences.... it compels the reader...... by making their curiosity peak...... It's such a sad state of affairs when you find you're expected to deliver more than just good conversation over a home cooked meal!!........ some men just don't have any sense of dignity or grace!!......ALL STARS!!..... well done dear poet sister!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo ?✴?❤
