Intimate Words

Naked pages waiting to be covered,
By the intimacies of my soul.
I run my fingertips along their edges,
Inhale their scent sweet like vanilla.
A journey scripted on each page,
Divulging secrets without fear.
Each stroke of the pen revealing
The depths of my heart.
Expression of emotion,
Without fear of judgement
Shattered dreams, hopeful future
Poured out on the page,
Culmination of expression,
A form of catharsis.
The written word a constant refuge.
My place to withdraw from life's ceaseless demands.
I write with  intention,
The words my fingerprint on this earth.
