Iron Tracks

She’s traveled these tracks
for many years now.
She doesn’t know a home.
Only the cold iron she travels on,
and the hospitality of strangers.
Its a long road,
A lonely road.
She doesn’t know what
she’s hoping to find at the end.
If there is an end.
Happiness.
A home.
Closure.
Until then,
every morning she is empty.
The sunrise greets her,
the iron tracks guide her,
her only friend.
Leading her to the unknown,
Leading her to
The end of the earth.
