It Hasn't Been Ages

We talk of millions and millions, that's too long,
maybe seven thousand years would not be wrong;
it's ages since I loved you, just the other day,
but time waits for no man, so they all say.
'The Earth's moving on it's axis my dear,' she said,
when she felt everything shaking in the bed;
once I was offered fruit from the tree of knowledge,
just supposing I'd declined the dubious privilege.
Goodness prevailed, nakedness was not apparent,
everything you did was nice, hate not evident,
there was no time, the sun set when it wanted to,
Methuselah drifted by, he said his years were few.
I was created today, Rome was built in a day,
God created God and left no one out of the play.
