"It Was You"
"Too proud to die,
and too sad to live.
There was nothing,
in this world,
I thought I could give,
except my feelings,
that have been strown across,
the midnight sky,
and with each new drug,
I waved goodbye.
Because that was my way of coping,
as I tried to rope in the stars,
while all of you,
traveled in your planes, trains, and cars,
and as I tugged harder,
my heart started to race!
Would this star here with me,
be how I saw part of God's Face?
Would it be my saving grace?
As it fell to the Earth,
I know it was pure,
yet tired and true,
and as it turned out,
that star was you,
and as you landed,
the other stars turned grey.
You're my Northern Star,
that I never want to go away.
Now we are here,
right where we are,
as these people,
travel in fast forward,
in their planes, trains, and cars.
All of this time,
that I dreamt of you,
and now all of my dreams,
are coming true,
as your billiance,
springs forth decadence,
I am giving my life,
another chance,
for as you kissed me,
my world suddenly,
came into color,
and I know deep down,
I could never love another."
