It’s A Small World

.
I walk every morning at two thirty, and the only ones I see;
Are the person delivering papers, or the Neighborhood Security!
But today it was very different, for I saw another nut like me;
We stopped and spoke for a while, with surprises’ epitome!
.
He said he was raised up in New Jersey, I said that I was born there too;
In the City of Perth Amboy, he said “My brother, just like you”!
I said my mom was from Metuchen, he said “It’s too where I was raised”;
But the next thing that we talked about, left the two of us more amazed!
.
I said my mother had come home to birth me, from my Dad’s station at Fort Sill;
He said his father was also sent there, for artillery men to drill!
We both shook our heads in disbelief, that our fathers might have met;
After parting, it reminded me of another story, that proves how small this world can get!
.
In August of nineteen sixty eight, my then wife and I went out to eat;
In Santa Monica, at Fifth and Wilshire, the deli “Zucky’s” could not be beat!
All of a sudden she screamed out, for standing there in line;
Was her girlfriend from Ohio, she’d not seen in a very long time!
.
She ran to hug and greet her, both stunned to meet so far away;
We all talked for about an hour, then they met to shop the following day!
The world is a very large place, but sometimes can be quite small;
Especially with occurrences like these two, forever to recall!

Great poem Larry. I remember being on holiday at the lake district and bumping into my parent's when I had no idea they were there too. The world can be a small place

Hi Larry,
a little poem for this little big world we seem to live in
A little bit of small world fate
In this globe that we were born
Destiny is sometimes late
Maybe time and space is torn
All my love

Sometimes from a distant place
Comes a person you thought you'd never face

My Dear Brother Tony,
My continued growth is a direct result of being so impressed by the works of great artists like you. I have learned so much in the past two years since joining Cosmo, by ingesting the brilliance of the powerful poets that surround me. Isn't it amazing that you've been on the corner of Fifth and Wilshire too, proving that it is a very small world. Love you too man!!!

Lovely. Small world indeed.
Hi James,
Thank you. Speaking of "small", if we could just get Trump, that peabrained moron to shut his big mouth, wouldn't we indeed be better off.
Peace and Love,

My Dear Leah,
As do beautiful words like these bring "spirit" to my heart. I don't know if you realize it, but I am an Art Dealer by trade, so when you compare my poetry to an artists' creating a work, you pay me the highest compliment I could ever receive.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
