It’s all up to you Christmas
O Christmas spirit,
Is that you again, decking the halls
with your silver bells over crowded malls
dusty old music on the radio?
and Santa Clause impersonators,
everywhere I go?
Some say you’ve turned too commercial
(or have I become too cynical, now?)
Anyway, I really do want to feel you again
So, I’m seizing the moment; (it may be fleeting)
embracing the holiday, lighting the scented candle
Rendering a ‘seasons’ greetings’
wherever I go
Toasting you with many a sparkling beverage;
(for celebration purposes)
letting darkness be covered, at least for a while
by tinsel and turkey and sweet potato pie
I'll fall into the trance,
do my part; and eat, laugh and dance…
now-- it’s all up to you Christmas—
Cause, I’m giving you this one last chance

My sentiments exactly. One last chance to bare our souls to humanity. One last time to toast along side tinsel topped trees and pray for world peace. So we eschew for this joyous season, from our thoughts of negativity, and we pledge our loving hearts to noel, noel. One last stab at returning to normality, yet, probably with "Auld Lang Syne", will come the betrayal of all our hopes.
