It's Hard

They say walk with a spring in your step and a song in your heart.
But all that is hard when you're falling apart.
It's hard to hide crying when they see your tears.
It's hard to stay brave when you're swallowed by fears.
Fears that you're judged or not even wanted.
It's hard to be glad when your mind is so haunted.
It's hard if they hate you, and some people will.
Sometimes it's so hard you wish to be killed.
But don't give up hope. Don't you ever stop trying.
I understand all your sorrow. I once too was crying.
So believe me when I say it won't all go away.
It won't change in a day. Still, don't be afraid.
It's bound to get better as time starts to pass.
Though time might go slow, it's not always fast.
You'll achieve great things you never dreamed you could.
I know this is true, cause that's where I stood.
I thought giving up was my only way out. 
But now I know my life really counts.
It's hard when you're grieving. I know that too.
But don't give up being the one and only YOU.
