Jesus P(eace)/(P)iece
We lust for the diamond studded pennants and depend on icy chains
In hopes to be loved
A piece of relief is granted when a costly purchase provides therapeutic esteemÂ
New brands make us feel brand new
Till the rust causes a sudden rush to replace the “Old Stuff”Â
And renews the vanity that vandalizes our perception of L.O.V.E
A piece of fleeting property has engulfed our priorities
Jesus wept, before willing drinking the full cup of holy wrath
Still we wrap our sight around a path less than holy
Seeking glory from showy treasures
That were never intended to represent us...
Then what?Â
When all else fails and the life we sought; brought no true peace
Do we tuck tail, running back to the throne of grace?Â
Or continue on a “hamster wheel” pace?
Achieving nothing, learning nothing... Finding nothing
What's the worth?Â
When all we have will give us nothing,Â
If that's all we have
See a real man loves his woman
And that woman loves her man
On that same token Christ loves his bride
So much so, that He lived, died and rose
With purpose to free that same brideÂ
From her pride
Giving her life
Giving her love
Giving her Peace
-Jesus Peace-
