Poem -

Joint Custody

I speed to your new house
My old relic of a car roaring
Like a lion almost as dead
As we are but still moving
He answers the door
Nice house you picked well.
She comes to me reluctantly
I dont blame her my rathole
Is no more than second best.
She will spend the weekend
Plugged into her ipod.
Texting friends
Teenage grunts will be
Our conversation.
She  looks in distaste at my
Second hand funiture
Outdated TV.
After a pizza she ate one piece
I am in bed weeping
She walked into my room
Cradled my head to her small breast
And said it will be ok dad
You will be fine
You have me
And I will always love you.
That was the moment
I started to get well again
