journey

journey

We turn to the winter and its haunted gifts
The campfire songs of primal night
Singing in bright voices against our fears
Calling the stars down into our eyes

We walk the shoreline with starfish hearts
Anchored deep in the rumbling surf
Our summer blood spills into the tide
Tints the mermaids’ scarlet dreams

Adrift in the night, awake yet sleeping
Meteors collide above our caravanseraiĀ
Pulling our mysteries from the purple ether
On an unfurling path, an everafter journey

Today is
But a whisper in theĀ
Endless chant of Time
