Journey to self love
I spent many years filled with self doubt,
I was caught in a storm and stuck in a drought.
I didnāt understand the meaning of life,
I always confused what was wrong from right.
I thought the way I looked truly mattered,
I worked so hard to make my body flatter.
But what I somehow managed to look past,
Was how to live life in contrast.
Because itās not always about what you see,
Itās about what is revealed underneath.
Because when a personās true beauty shines,
Itās because they flourished from the inside.
I stopped caring about others thought,
And I ignored all of what the media taught.
Because I have always deeply disagreed,
With the images they wanted the world to see.
The perfect body isnāt in existence,
But with so much drive and persistence,
There is a way to love every flaw,
The negativity just needs to withdraw.
Iāll start smiling when I look at my reflection,
And will quit relying on others attention.
I need to tell myself to start living for you,
And eventually the happiness will come through.
It might take a little more time,
But thatās okay Iāve got all my life,
To build strength in my self love,
I just have to take the hate and rise above.

In my belief we are spirit children of a Heavenly Father in a mortal body, and when we are righteous, people can see the shine from the inside! That is why I liked that line so much!
