Poem -

Kiss Me On A Monday

Goes with my other poem Beneath the Greenwoods Mantle

Kiss Me On A Monday

Kiss me on a Monday
Beneath the silver moon,
In the greenwood clearing
Among the faerie rune.
I will take your hand in mine,
I'll be your heart's desire,
As we dance togetherย
Around the faerie fire.
No lips better tasted
Than mine, of passion born,
We'll dance the night awayย
Until the Tuesday morn.
Enchanted love's forbidden kiss
'Neath moonlight'sย  waxing glowย
Will steal your heart and mind awayย
As only faeries know.
Come with me, then, if you dareย
And dance to faerie song.
And kiss me on a Mondayย
For Tuesday I'll be gone.

Being Me

I wrote this a while back but reading it now I think it ties in with my other poem, Beneath the Greenwood's Mantle which I wrote the other day.

Thank you so much, Tony. The poems seem to be a pair.... totally by accident, Iย  have to confess. At least, I did not conciously make this happen ...but they do seem to go. Stay safe and have a fab day, my friend x

Hehe he... ???. Monday no good eh?ย  What are you like?ย  Unfortunately, Thursday is the day that faeries spend sharpening their spears and adding to their weapons stores. They are feisty little things and are not to be trifled with (although cream cakes, possibly).ย  Got to be a Monday, Greg ?

Thank you for reading and leaving such a fun remark ??ย  Glad you like it. Hugsย  ?x

Ah! Why?ย  Now that is a very good question, why, indeed. Monday is her day of seducing when she walks this world in the search for mortal men... Her weakness. Any other day and she has slipped back behind the veil to attend to things that we can never know.

Thanks for reading, Richard, and for leaving a worthy query ?.ย  Stay safe and keep well x

My Dear Being Me,

This poem has brought back a treasured memory, of when I was in the sixth grade.ย  We had a variety show in the Spring, for the sixth through eighth grades, attended by all our parents.ย  The theme was music from the Gay Nineties.ย  My two friends and I had formed a trio, and we were one of the acts.ย  We sang two songs, "Daisy", and "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon".ย ย

The silver moon's light
Appeared on a Monday night
We kissed till morn

All my love,
Larry xxx

I could use this poem as inspiration. My better half is well overdue a love poem. The only recent poem I wrote about her was called Ashtray. I've posted it on other sites but I daresent post it here....she does very rarely read my poems lol.

Very well written by the way.

Why don't you want to post "Ashtray" here?ย  It's a shame she doesn't read your poetry much. As for this poem, I am honoured that you would want to use it as inspiration.

Thank you so much, Syd, for reading and leaving a lovely comment. I appreciate it, thanks x

Reads like a modern day Shakespeare romance, love the word construction and great rhyme to arrive at your almost pleading but revealing conclusion.
Another superb write and full marks.
