What is a universal fact?
What is a subjective opinion?
What is a definite?
What is an objective understanding?
And who decides? For whom;
just for themselves; or they intended
to for others to follow or
to make them follow?
Amidst it all, what do I think?
What is my subjectivity;
my objectivity; my definite;
my understanding; my identity?
What do I decide; To follow or
to simply walk my own?
I have been told by many,
asked by some and even
implored by a few-
'You have been living in a
shadow, cast by a big nothing.
It is a nothing, it cannot have
a shadow. Stop it. Get out!
Please! See the light.'
I do not know what to do.
Listen to them? How do they know
what I see, live within and without?
Are they right?
Listen to myself? How do I know
what I see, live within and without
is true or an illusion. Am I right?
Shadow or light?
One cannot exist
without the other.
But which of them
is my truth? Or both?
Then how much of each?
I do not know; do not know
how to know; or if I even
want to know.
What I know is that
I am alive.
And what I want is
I want to be.

simply to be.
