Lady sings the blues
Tribute to Billy Holiday
Lady sings the blues, acknowledged as Billy Holiday.
A jazz singer with pizazz. Her elegance and sultry voice noone could duplicate.
She sang a song titled, "Strange Fruit" and the lyrics were profound.
It was a song protesting the lynching of Black Americans.
The lyrics were borrowed from a poem by Meeropol published in 1937.
She used music as a coping mechanism to deal with racism, sexism, and she is very underated.
I admire and honor her courage, talent, and music.
Billy Holiday was a musical genius that left a autobiography.
She was a lady of many sorrows, singer, actress, and dancer.
"God bless the child that got his own" is my favorite song by her.
She knew how to mesmerize a audience with her presence.
She died at the age of 44. She will never be forgotten for her music, life, and legacy.
Her death was tragic due to: sexual abuse, toxic relationships, and drug abuse.
If people listen carefully to her music there is a lesson to be learned. Billy Holiday will be remembered forever as the lady who sang the blues.
