Poem -

Lake Como

Lake Como

I awoke to a dream reality

of joy invoking playfulness -

not just for children

it seems.

Lakeside echoes from hidden depths

layered in mesmeric music

of the gentle rolling waves -

each one unique in similarity

or is that similarly unique?

Mallards flotilla by

deigning to utter a hasty quack...

or two.

A solitary swan glides

close to the "cluck, cluck armada" certain of his place

on the enchanted lake;

he has no need to bully

his lake loving companions.

The early morning fog gives way to sensuous clarity.

Which way to turn - to view such beauty?

Mesmerized by the changing subtle play of light -

of manipulating mists - of wonders beyond measly words ...

my heart is lost and won in one -

Oh, glorious seductress I'm yours.
