Lamentations of a queen - part three

I sit here, in this four walled cocoon
Where tapestries and darkness create a womb
and here I know, all too soon
I shall meet my doom
The fever is taking me slowly
And I pray to all that is holy
To keep our son safe and that he shall know thee
That thou shall keep him safe and royally
My beautiful poor boy, how i shall miss him
Please keep him safe and free from sin
Do not meddle with what is his whim
I can already see he is frail and thin
Kind sir ! do promise me this
That he shall know his fathers kiss
And that his mother he will not miss
Take another wife to wedded bliss
My innocent prince, My poor boy!
Whose mother is left to die amidst joy
Within the year since I became a toy!
To Cromwell and his cunning ploys
My care sir ! it was not the best
I have been left here to cry and vex
Whilst my ladies curse and hex
This fate, next to your happiness
I have brought to you a son
so that your legacy will live on
But now my purpose has been done
My soul is ready to flee and run
Take pity sir ! I leave my boy in your care
To rear and nurture and prepare
For your world of war and despair
to balance on his shoulders bare
Let Edward know that i will always care
And take the snippet of my hair
For a locket around his neck to wear
So i will always be close, i will always be there
