Last Memory

Early morning dreams

take me back to a time in spring

when I was yours to keep

and I never had a moment to think otherwise.

It was a time my spirit soared

knowing you could only give me more

than I had ever had before

you came into my life.

And if I could go back again

I would most certainly win

the object of my affection.

But I know this time has past

and how I wish it would be the last

memory held within my mind.

Only because it was a time

when I felt you could be mine

and I would have been yours forever.
