Poem -

Laugh

I laugh so much

because I need to keep afloat.

If I stop laughing,Ā

the air will return to my lungsĀ

and turn to stone,Ā

And I will sink to the bottom,Ā

sad and alone.Ā

And I'll talk and smile,Ā

as if nothing's wrong.

But in my heart and through my tears,

I sing a different song.

And truly, sadly,

you made me laugh so much,Ā

that I have no more.Ā

So that I laugh hollowly,

robotically,Ā

like you that day.Ā
