Laugh

I laugh so much

because I need to keep afloat.

If I stop laughing, 

the air will return to my lungs 

and turn to stone, 

And I will sink to the bottom, 

sad and alone. 

And I'll talk and smile, 

as if nothing's wrong.

But in my heart and through my tears,

I sing a different song.

And truly, sadly,

you made me laugh so much, 

that I have no more. 

So that I laugh hollowly,

robotically, 

like you that day.
