Leave Well Enough Alone

Leave Well Enough Alone

I see your smile - don't ever change such beauty,
uninhibited, perfect with your own hint of mystery;
remember Mona Lisa with that sardonic embrace,
Leonardo captured the moment on a lovely face.

Like my mother, that knowing look, all your quirks,
I know you, allways wriggling - looking for perks;
then we try to hide - no ma, it's not really like that,
why is that mothers always seem to know off pat.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel - it's age related too,
you know that you can't do the things you used to do;
the smile is manufactured, not the way you used to look,
changed your whole persona by choosing from a book.

I stood in front of Mona and she quietly took me apart,
if you had her perception then you'd know where to start.
