Poem -

Leaving Me Without Words

How does my infatuation feel on your calloused fingertips?

Why do you take up so much space in my mind,

when our conversations barely graze the surface

of what goes so deep?

How can you hold my curiosity so well while your hands

are shoved in your pockets?

I wind you up,

I break myself down,

I hold you above my waters,

while I am drowning underneath.

How does it feel to have a girl with paper skin and knives for hands

completely and utterly speechless

when her words are the most important to her?
