Lessons

Dead bodies lay down at my feet
The dying at my side
I've made it through another night
At hotel genocide

Not one person bats an eyelid
At the bodies laiden with flies
We don't have much fight left to give
You can see it in our eyes

Today it's time to meet our fate we are off to the killing machine
Hearded like cattle into the dark
Men women and children scream

For we don't fit in with the master plan
But that's ok you see
Cos we're off to cleanse our souls in a shower of zyklon B

Adolf and the SS using mass  extermination
To eradicate the jews and create
Their master nation

But at least we will not die in vein
In future religious tolerance will be taught
Or maybe folks will forget about the battles their ancestors fought

I have been reading into the holocaust a lot recently. We all get taught the basics at school but I must admit I was shocked at some of the things I read and saw. Absolutely heartbreaking horrific and devoid of any point whatsoever

Hey Dave, that was absolutely an amazing poem, speaks volumes of truth, I was over in Auschwitz in December and I don't think I will ever forget the heavy deathly misery no words to describe pain they felt, even though it was back in WW2, what went on there will never leave humanity.

I've just watched the allied army tapes from 1945 on Netflix. Its titled Nazi concentration camps. Absolutely heartbreaking images. Thank you for the kind words
