Poem -

Let me not die a stranger to them that knew me

The day I close my eyes in death

that inevitable day when I take my last breath

may i be known for my kindness, my love

May i be remembered as an angel from above

may my life not be a distant memory

but a joyful, living testimony

May those who know me, celebrate my life

and may i not be known for hatred and strife

as people reminisce on who i was

may my footsteps be as gold, not sounding brass

May my heart portray incomprehensible compassion

living each day with unquenchable passion

honor and truth must be part of my being's essence

the day my casket is lowered into the ground

and loved ones mourn my death, loud

may all who know me, say of me

she was more than just what we can see

her life was a true reflection of what God wanted her to be

let me not die a stranger, to them that knew me!
